RE: WooHoo 15.1 MPG
Eric, Which gibson exhaust system did you put on? 1 in/1 out 1 in/2 out etc... i'm planning on the 1/1 to keep the low end torque #'s good.

RE: WooHoo 15.1 MPG
I should have made it a little more clear. I put a set of Gibson headers on my truck. I have them feeding into the stock exhaust system with a Flowmaster three chamber installed in the place of the stock muffler.
Your plan of a single exhaust is correct. Single should give you a little more lower end power than a dual out exhaust. But if you have an automatic transmission this will be a vutual wash. In my manual trans vehicle extra low end is nice due to not having to downshift. An automatic trans will do it.....eeeaaa.....well......automaticly. (Did that sound as stupid to you as it did to me????? Nevermind)
BTW a 5.9 liter is a 360 CI. A 5.2 liter is a 318. These are standard ways of talking about both engines. It is more generaly accetable to refer to the new generation engines by their 'liter' displacement. So the 4.7 liter is correct (approx 285ish CI) and the 5.7 liter HEMI (approx 350ish CI) it the proper way to describe these engines.

RE: WooHoo 15.1 MPG
I've been getting 15 MPG out of my 04 QC Hemi, I have about 2000 miles on it now. I just drove from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach and back and averaged 18 MPG for the entire trip. I almost hit 19 on the way over with a small tail wind. The head wind on the way back more than made up for it.

Oh, by the way, I've been running 89 octane since I bought it.

Damn Vader!
The best I have gotten is 12.4 MPG in mixed highway/city.
Usually I do 90% city, but my son had basketball tourney about 20 miles away by highway.
I average about 10.5 in the city (on paper), I don't trust the computer.

Agreed. I did however reset it before the trip. I used the computer and filled before and after. I found the computer to be fairly accurate. I have been reprogrammed and have KN and Gibson to help.

RE: WooHoo 15.1 MPG
even with exhaust and CAI I NEVER get better than 12mpg EVER... 12 is on a GREAT day.... I average 10.5 or so with the 5.7 hemi.... I'm convinced there isn't anything out there that is going to help my MPG... besides letting off the gas... yea that'll happen.

I have about 1700 miles on my CTD and on my last road trip I got 16mpg with about 25% city and 75% highway. I usually ran at around 75 - 85 mph.
On a previous trip managed close to 18 mpg but I kept it around 65 - 70mph.

Yes indeed, tell us how you did that! My SRT-4 is getting around 17-18 in the city (without hitting the boost), I haven't taken a trip on the Interstate yet...[sm=smiley5.gif]
