Ram SPORT headlight conversion issues
OK so I have been installing a set of aftermarket dual SPORT headlights into my truck. I wired the system a few weeks ago but chickened out for the finall tap in and headlight install......until this afternoon.
A little background first. I am using the high and low beams on all four lights. The original SPORT models only used the outer low beams (9007 bulbs) and all four high beams (9004 and the outer 9007 bulbs). I wanted to use all four bulbs on the lows and highs. I have set up the sysem using the existing wires from the driver headlights to activate four relays to light the bulbs. I have also installed a separate fuse panel the system.
The wiring worked fine and I will write a tech article when I am done (I have pictures and have created a wiring diagram for all to see). The problem is that the corner lights are different on the SPORT headlights in comparison to the standard Ram. I ended up installing the stock fixtures for now but now a have to order the proper corner lights to fit.
This is not a big deal.......I just wanted to cry to someone. I have checked the place that I got the SPORT headlights from (WWW.PROCARPARTS.COM) and they have the diamond clear corners to match. So thats all........

I wasn't able to install the SPORT headligts because the corner lights did not fit them. I will have pictures of them next week when the proper lights get here. I did dry fit them and they look great.
The difference in the lights are the way the corner lights slide into the headlight frame. It is different from one to the other. I will take pictures of the difference when I get the new corners in.
I was wondering why all of the aftermarket corner lights would say that they were for the 'NON-SPORT' models. Now I know. So I made the mistake for all of you guys. Now you owe me one
