Tinting front windows
I was thinking about tinting the front windows. I was told that the current tint is 17% and the closest to match would be 20%.
What about going lighter? I think my state (MO) limits the front windows to 35% legally. I don't want to get hassled by the law!
How do you think it would look having 2 different shades of tinting?

I have seen a qaud cab Ford 150 with very dark rear windows and much lighter windows on the front. I thought it didn't look right and even a little goofy, but then again, that could be just because it was a Ford
If I had a quad cab, I'd think about tinting all 4 side windows the same shade and tint the rear a bit darker.

I have my front windows tinted. In certain lights they match, but if it's a bright sunny day you can see a difference. Just keep it legal, a lot of places charge more to take tint off than to put it on.

Tinted front windows are a like a flashing red light to a cop...gives them "probable cause" to pull ya over (to pretend to check the tint) and look for "other things"....
Odd, I've owned a ton of vehicles with all side and rear windows tinted, never illegal, and I've never been pulled unless I was exceeding the speed limit.
The list includes: '99 Volvo Wagon, '02 Subaru WRX, '99 Infiniti I30, '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, '98 Dodge Dakota R/T, and my current truck.

This is my 1st car/truck with tinted windows and I've not been pulled over because of the tint so far (fingers crossed). Every time I've ever been pulled over, I had given them a reason to weather it's because of my out tail lights (in my Nova not my Ram) or the way I was driving (in my Nova, Camaro, and Ram).
Obviously you haven't met the Texas Department of Public Safety...

Nope, the Department of Safety in Maryland just drives around to different doughnut places. It was funny when a local news station did 24 hours with the Department of Highway Services. They clocked the guys, they each worked 15 minutes in a ten hour shift.

Wow, that's pretty bad. Down here they stay pretty busy, busting drivers coming up from Mexico with car loads and, in some cases, truckloads of drugs.....
ah yes, there is a lot drug trafficking from either Fl or south Ga too. You always have to be careful when traveling through south Ga in a car with out of state plates. But still, in my 12 years of driving in Ga in a few very ratty looking cars, I had only been searched once, and that was because he saw me fumbling with something on my floor boards when he pulled me over. I was in fact putting my shoes on because there are laws against driving bare foot, but he didn’t know what I was doing. I can’t blame him for wanting to search my car.
