Default 1994 Dodge Ram1500 rearend

I need a new rearend for my truck. I have looked on the rearend tag to see what gear ratio it has and it has on it 3.5. Does this mean that it has 3.50 gear ratio in it? Another problem that I am having is that everywhere I have looked for a rearend, they only offer a 3.55 gear ratio. So I was wandering if anybody could give me any insight into this problem. Thank You, Lilbigman.

Yeah, chances are its 3.55 in the rear. Check under the hood, on my 1999 1500 Ram, there is a sticker spec sheet. Its about 3" x 2" and it has engine info, gears, trim, etc on it.

The sticker under the hood on my 96 also says 3.5, they probably wanted to save wear and on their equipment so left the last 5 off.

Yeah. I'm sure you are running 3.55's---why do you think you need a whole new rear diff, after hundreds of rear overhauls I have never had to replace the whole diff
