Default Sam's gas???

I belong to Sam's Warehouse and they just installed gas pumps a couple of weeks ago. The other day I filled up there and save .05 cents/gallon. It is not as convenient as gas stations, but you do save $.

Has anyone else used Sam's gas?

Is it or should it be different than the chains?

Is Sams like a Costco? If so I have used Costco gas before, which is fine because I have to drive out of my way to get there as it is, so now I can fill up there too.

Yes, Costco is very much like Sams. The Costco in my area has gas pumps installed, but it's in a really busy road and a pain to get there, so I have not bought gas from them yet.

I fill up @ Sam's club often actually, its only ~ 0.05 cheaper, but it adds up. Havent had any problems. I know Costco has a gas station too, but I rarely fill up there, (out of the way)

I used to fill up with Sam's gas as well, but it's out of my way. But while I was using Sam's gas, I never had any problems.

Yes the Costco is really busy in my area also. I wouldn't say there is anything in their gas to make it special and SOMETIMES, not always, they are much cheaper. But it is 50 miles out of the way, we only go there when we need mass amounts of, well, crap. You never know when your going to need 85 lbs of cereal, a case of wine, 50 lbs of crackers, a metric ton of steak and 2 dozen roses.

Why put that cr@p gas in your tanks? People on this board spend $25K+ for a Hemi truck & feed it Sams Club gas? All gas is not created equal!!! My other ride is a BMW 325is that is chipped & needs 93 octane per the programmer. I found that Union 76 offers the best performance for it and it's only 91 octane (cant get 93 here in CA unless it's at the track). A couple of years back I had a 78 Chevy truck w/350... all stock and was running the cheepest gas I could find... when I didn't have a choice on gas I ended up with a tank of Chevron and noticed my fuel milage went up, so I switched and found I was getting about 2 mpg more than the cheep gas. I also noticed that some of the little problems such as rough idle & stumbling slightly from a stop had gone away. Since then I've stuck with the 2 (Chevron & 76) and cars & truck run awesome.

SO, stop being so cheep & put quality gas in your new rides!!!

I would never use Sam's or Costco gas... Shell or Mobil for me 95% of the time, sometimes I'll hit the Amoco down the street if I'm on E and riding on fumes. I always use Premium... I'm not bashing their gas, but I wouldn't even try it in my truck.

WOOHOO!! Do I get a treat? Hehehe!

But really... steve00ram360 is right, not all gas is the same. In my Sunfire (was my only new car... traded it in on the Ram), I got a full tank at BP and my car ran like there was water in the gas... which is not unheard of... why do you think it's cheaper gas? It was puttering and surging, I thought the car was going to stall!! I worked at a dealer at that point and took it in and they sucked out the gas and I went to Shell... refilled up and the car was fine.

From then on, always Shell... but now Shell is being pushed out, that closest one to my house was replaced by a BP! [:@] LOL! The nearest one now is about 7 miles away... so I decided to try Mobil (in my Ram now) and the truck ran as cherry as she does drinking Shell... so Mobil and Shell are my choices... Amoco is okay if I'm desperate and can't make it to Mobil.
