Default Door Ajar Chime?

Anyone know how to stop the door ajar chime without pulling the chime itself out on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?

Here is a wiring diagram for the doors:

I would imagine you could cut the Black/Violet wire for the driver's side and the Black/White wire for the passenger's side. The wires are located in the kick panels. Just give them a pull towards the back of the vehicle and they pop off. There is a bundle of wires in there taped together. Not sure if cutting the wires would disable them, but it might be worth a go if you wanna try it.

Also, there is tons of other info on that site, pretty interesting:

My idea is way simpler (maybe not better) than that. You'll need the following....
1. 1 .357 mag.
2. 6 hallow point rounds
3. Insurance, full coverage

Add one part .357 with 6 parts hallow point rounds (not to much penetration is what we are looking for here) and unload weapon. Now 1 round will do the trick, even if you suck at shooting, but 6 may be necessary depending on how long you've had to SUFFER through ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, SHUT UP!!

No need to thank me, thank modern science.

Maybe I'm overlooking some very important detail, but why don't you either
A) shut the door, or
B) Take the key out of the ignition switch
C) open the passenger door.
Now, C may not apply to you, my truck doesn't ding with the passneger door open. Only the driver door.
Surely it's not that simple, is it?

Thanks for the help, but I think that might stop my light from coming on also when I open the door. I just thought there was a code or something that allows you to turn it off. I found a code to turn off the seatbelt chime when your not wearing it. I put it in and that stoped. I might just pull the chime completely out like I did in my other truck. Thanks anyway though.

Maybe put that .357 to some other use???
Nah, just kidding.
Im sure he wants to keep the truck running and be able to get out and in quickly for some reason and not have it come on. Then he wouldnt be able to take the key out and shutting the door would take up time. Same for the passenger door. I dunno.

The only reason why I dont like the chime is because, sometimes I leave my door open and listen to my system when Im doing something out in the yard at home , or when Im BBQing out side or something. I like to listen to my music loud, and clear. I live out of city limits, so this is not a problem.

I understand. I wasn't trying to be obtuse, but some people just don't like the chime and, like I said, my passenger door doesn't activate the ding! Thank GOD!!!!! for small miracles!

I remember reading in the owners manual about a "partymode" You rotate the interior light dial to a setting and it turns off the light. Does the thing chime if the key is in both accessory and run? Just a thought. Oh yeah mine is an '02
