2002 Ram 1500 4x4 Body Lift?
I searched this site a little but couldnt find anything matching my question...so here it is - sorry if its a repeat! I have a 02' Ram 1500 Quad 4x4 and want to get a suspension lift (maybe 4") but the cheapest one I've seen is roughly $1700, which I believe was Rancho. Does anyone know of a less expensive one available? Like....$1100-ish?
Second question: If I cant find a suspension lift for less than $1100-ish, I'm going with a body lift, probably 4". Any particular brand I should look for (or stay away from)? And does anyone know a good WHOLESALER where I get any of these goodies? Thanks for your knowledge ~

Adding suspension lift creates more tire-to-fender clearance when your rig is on level ground. And suspension lift helps when you get twisty up to a certain point. However, when an axle is pushed up enough to hit the stock bumpstop, you have only the stock amount of tire-to-fender clearance, regardless of how much suspension lift you have.
The only way to maximize tall-tire fender clearance--and to get the most twist out of your A.O.R.TM springs--is to add a body lift.
A body lift looks more beautiful anyway!
If you want to get a suspension lift , I will jump up and down on your current ones for 1k, LOL
These are cool. I never heard of any prob on over 18 truck owners I know. All of it should cost under 10
edit--- forgot to add the link. LOL Here it is..... http://www.performanceaccessories.com/

RE: 2002 Ram 1500 4x4 Body Lift?
Im the oppisite of rIntro, i hate body lift kits, they should only be used as a last resort to get the much needed extra clearance to run a big meaty tire. A suspension lift is by far the way to go, and rancho would prolly be the cheaper of the mayjor companies. When i looked into it, they offered two kits, one for a person who wanted to run there stock 17" and another for people that have the 20"s or are changing to new rims with more backspacing. The only difference in the two kits are the different tie rods ends, to keep the 17" they use alil smaller tierod, then stock/normal. You do get more clearence in day to day driving, 4" from the kit, and then a few more from the 35"s, along with new bumpstops to stop them from eating your fenders. They wont come in contact with your fenders unless you start pounding on it hard. Not sure where you get the idea that a body lift is beautiful, i my selse dont liek the 3" gap it makes all the way around your truck, and you have to modify way more things with a body lift, fan shroud, siftlinkage, brakelines, floor shifter for 4x4, eltrical wire for eletric 4x4, gas tanks hose, and air line, wires there also, you also then weeken the supports the body has, since its meant to ride along the frame, now its being intirely supported by 6-8 locations along the frame, on 3" diameter piece's. Some other compaines that make kits are SkyJacker, Superlift, RCS, TSL, ProComp, Fabtech.. most of which can be found online, and dealers located fairly easy. Fabtech and Superlift i think are a lil cheaper, not alot mind you.. but a 100 or two is just that.. a 100 or 2.
Thats my .02 worth.. best of luck and have fun.
Oh, both of which, a body lift and suspesion lift, can be done, with simple hand tools, in a guys driveway, over a long weekend.
