Have the same problem on the same truck. Local independent sniffed it out and said he has a ram and one mini van ahead with problem and really doesn't have time to do another it takes so long. I have an outdoor power equipment shop and have never been scared of doing my own work. I'd sure appreciate any info such as...
How long does it take the first time? How much is street price of evaporator? What is typical shop charge. truck has only 59k miles.

shop is gonna chage about 750 to do the job. I do them in about 2 hours. Your first one without alot of product knowledge is gonna take the better part of the day WITH the service manual. Follow it step by step and it should be real painless. After you do a few you learn some short cuts but the first should be by the book
