5.9L Inline 6 here, thats nearly a full liter per cylinder

the new inline 6's are going to be 6.7L

if you want something under 3L your looking in the wrong place if that is how insurance looks at it. my tacoma has a 2.4L 4 banger thats got about 140 horse. the only way to make my little yoda run anywhere close to my ram is to turn 3500+ rpm. my ram redlines at 3200 and makes most of it's power between 1500 and 2000rpm gotta love huge low windeing engines

I post on a few technology boards that are primarily European/British populated. You should see the reactions I get when I tell people I drive a truck with an 8.0L V10 engine. [8D] Apparently I'd have to be a millionaire over there to be able to insure it....and about 40 years old to have the ability to drive it. [&:]

And insuring my other vehicles (5.2L, 3.8L, 3.1L Turbo, and 2.7L) would be impossibly expensive. I wouldn't have any toys to play with

With engine sizes that big you would never get insured bro. As for running costs, were getting close t £1 per litre for petrol so even if you were a millionaire to afford the insurnace, your money wouldnt go too far on fuel.

Thanks for these replys, i appreciate the help. It looks like my dreams of owning a dodge are over. The insurance just wont work out, especially as im 21. Are there any other trucks i could get that are under 3 litre, I was looking at the chevy s 10's and such like.

Thanks.

Yeah, you may have to look towards the japanese to find smaller motor trucks. I'm glad I'm here in the U.S. to. Drivin' a 5.7L HEMI at 15. Only a 2.5 in a truck? That's the motor in our sebring! Well, not the exact motor.

You can get a 2.5 liter 4 banger in the 2nd generation Dakota 2wd, not sure if it was available with extended cab though.

You guys sure have some insane sized trucks there. Most of ours here are 2.5ltr. Im looking at over 9000 USD to insure even one that size. The UK trucks are pretty lame though and very small in size which is why im looking at importing. Is there nothing under the 3ltr mark?

Thanks for the help.

Wow, I know vehicle sizes are smaller over there but wow. How do you guys move or haul anything with such small motors? I guess if you have little turbo diesels, but it's just not the same. Do they have campers and trailers over there? How does anyone pull them?
Neat to know how other people view their vehicles in different parts of the world.

If you want a truck under 3 liters, go with Toyota, or Nissan. They are the reliable choice for engines that small. The 4-banger new Tacoma gets like 20 mpg city.
