Hi there,

Im looking to import a Dodge Ram to the UK and would like to know what engine sizes they come in. I know very little about the truck but realy like the look of them. You cant buy them here so importing a second hand truck from the US seems like a good option. I will be using it as my second car to get me to bike races in.

Insurance in the UK for big engines is very very expensive so ideally i would like a small engined Truck. Would prefer a double cab but im easy.

4.7 and 5.7 (Hemi) v8's. Cummins Diesel,or the V6. If you go with a used you can get the 5.9 v8....i think pre 2000 year.

Dodge only makes the Regular and Quad cabs now. No Extra cabs if you want new.

 

It will be a second hand one bro. Basicly i would like a nice looking truck with as small an engine as possible.
What about a Dakota?

i only know about the dakotas for the last few years:

v8 4.7L
v6 3.7L

the 6 only makes about 30hp less then the v8, so it isn't that much worse.

i'd check trucks on ebay to see what all the engine sizes are.

 

You guys sure have some insane sized trucks there. Most of ours here are 2.5ltr. Im looking at over 9000 USD to insure even one that size. The UK trucks are pretty lame though and very small in size which is why im looking at importing. Is there nothing under the 3ltr mark?

Y'all should see our rigs! That's nothin'! I don't know what's all in the UK, but here we have 6.1 V8s in cars. We got the 5.7L here and she usually gets 'bout 20mpg freeway. But we had the 4.7L in the durango which got about 24mpg freeway. Good luck, american trucks are big, bad brutes. That's why I like 'em. You could grad a monster truck with a 540 if ya want.

 

theres also the 5.2 in the rams and the dakotas


i think theres a 3.9 v6 too could be wrong though

 

94-01= 5.2 and 5.9 V8s.... (318 and 360, respectively)

...they also made a V6 but ive never seen one so i dunno the size

 

v6 is a 4.9 i think
