anyone have advice or suggestions on shift kits for a 01 Ram Sport 5.9L 360 w/ Automatic 36RH tranny?

 

You mean 46RE trans, we haven't used the RH line since about 97 and all trannies have been 4 speeds since about 90. Contact you're local Mopar performance dealer, there is a shift kit available from Mopar that will do just what you want.

so i got a 46RE? damn dealer doesnt know a damn thing

 

do shift kits really make your tranny wear down and fail quicker? or are they better for the life of it

puttin a shift kit actually will extend the life of your tranny. but it will be hard on the truck. if u have bad u joints they will show up, or a rear end goin bad, or bad tranny mounts, they will start to show.

a shift kit jus allows more pressure to the clutch assemblies, which means its LESS likely to slip, extendin the life of the clutch packs.
