just got this truck 2 days ago and i havent had a tape player in like 10 years.do they even make tapes anymore???anyway i need upgrade now.trucks a 02 ram sc lb.whats all involved with this.ive done a ton of radios in my time but dont like screwing stuff up.brief walk through would be cool.thakns for any info guys.

btw if anyone put in a changer where you got it.

The head unit is easy to remove. There is only one screw to remove that is to the lower right of the radio. Once that is out the bezel can be pulled out. Once removed there are four screws to remove and unit will slide right out.

sweet that was the biggest thing i was worried about.last truck had to rip half the dash out.what a pita[:@]thanks vader

oh yeah what size speakers in doors and back of cab???

6x9s are in the door (Even though its a circular grill)

an 5 1/4 in the back I THINK?

You can go to cruchfield and get the speakers sizes from the web site. Also get the "easy connect" kit. It the wiring harness that you put on the new radio to hook up to the stock harness. Its cleaner and easier to put the stock radio back on in case you decide to trade in later. I have an '02 sc also. It came with the Infinity system. It's not bad but has a builtin loudness function that when I wanna turn up the music it rolls off the bass. Here is a pic of the box that I got at a stereo shop, nothing fancy just a couple a Kicker 12's.

actually i got 2 jl w3 8s from my other truck.i been kicking around the idea of throwing them in the ram or not.my cd player and changer are going in.if the rears really are 5 1/4 i got mb quart components sitting here new in box yet.im going ot check crutchfield now.i actually forgot about them.thanks for the info guys.

yeah kinda funny tape player and its all but fully loadeddont ask me i was going to rip out factory stuff anyway.crutchfield says 5 1/4 and so did the morons at circiut city.anyone got components in the rear of the ram???i got some sitting here from another project that went downhill fast.
