Default Gas gauge

I assumed i had only used a 1/4 tank of gas between driving 100 miles yesterday and 15miles today because my gauge that i still had 3/4 of gas left, so i filled up today, as i do now every 1/4 tank because of the price and I was surrpised to see that I had used 9 gallons!!!!!!!!!!!! and my tank was only reading 3/4, now if i pressed the gas to get on the highway the needle would move, which i assume is normal, if its not let me know. It would move to half and then go back to the 3/4 position. Is there something wrong w/ my gauge?

No, just gas slushing back and forth. Probably does the same up and down hills.

Depends on what year, model and wheelbase you have?

I have a 02 1500 QC short bed - it comes with the 26 gal tank. Longbeds come with 35 gallon.

The '04's have the option of a 34g tank in a shortbox.

When I bought mine I was trying to decide between two trucks. The one I got has the 26, but the other one had the optional 34 gallon tank. I really wanted that tank and it's only a $55 option!!!
Damn dealer said they couldn't install the larger tank in (my) truck, which I think is BS.
5 Star my butt![:@]
