94 Ram 1500 Brake & ABS light on
Anyone have an idea why thiese lights are on. I had a scan at my local garage done and no codes showed up. The master Cyl is full and the brakes seem to work fine. Just want to make sure there is no serious problem occuring.
One other item, is there a cure for the grille tabs breaking, and allowing the grille to become loose.
On the brighter side I used to be all Ford, until I purchased this truck. There is no comparison at all, I pull a car trailer and this little 318 does a fine job, and gives me great gas mileage. Just love this truck, and want to keep it in good repair. Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

90% of the time the ABS light in on because the rear wheel speed sensor on top of the rear Diff had failed
10% the rear solinoid dump valve fails, usually you can see green stuff growing at the base of the solinoids

this right after i started it up one day, so i shut it off, and started it back up and every thing is fine. hmmm.

I have a 96 2500 w/ 4 wheel abs & have same prob, but noticed my rear pinion is leaking & it has play, would this trigger it also, Im new on the site & would like to pick your brain a bit. I made some mods to my ride, M1 manifold, MSD ignition, Fastman TB, 3923 plugs, 265/75/16 tires & will be getting gears installed in 3 weeks, should I replace PCM w/ mopar PCM or can I Reflash the one I have now without getting the death flash from my dealer. If dealer can do it what do I tell them I need to do to avoid any problems, seems like your up to snuff on all these technical items. I've heard of BG reflash is this a good idea? Back to ABS prob I also have had to replace bad brake light switch, (brake lights would stay on), & i have small ground wire burnt where it mounts to master cyl & or combo valve , does the rear speed sensor cause this? Would greatly appreciate any help you may have . Thanks
Just 1 more quick question I have Snap -On scanner, I can't seem to get ABS codes from it, do I hook up to OBDII connector for ABS code retrieveal or connector under hood,

I also just recently had my truck hooked up to the Snap On, code scanner with no readout results from either the hookup in the cab, or under the hood.
Still have the lights on problem. Guess the dealer is the next stop, concerned if its a safety issue.

I replaced the rear speed sensor, on the diff and both lights still remained on. I then purchased the rear dump valve the one that is mounted under the master cylinder. Installed it and still have the provlem.
As for the brake light being on, I seem to have isolated that to the ignition switch. After installing all of the above parts, I moved the key in the ignition switch, and the brake light went off.
Still the ABS light is on, and after spending $240 the problem is still present. Personaly I would rather get rid of the ABS system all together and have the normal brakeing system restored. Is there a way to do this?
