Does anyone know what a stock timing is for a 360? I'm working on my 98 Ram with a 5.9L. I've already moved the powerband a little, by turning the disturber and my timing is reading 6 advanced. The only stupid thing I forgot to do was check on what the original timing was before I advanced it. I don't want to go too far and start getting spark knock. I asked the local dealer and he told me I couldn't do it, but I already did it so I don't know what he was talking about. He told me that the timing was controled by the computer, but I advanced it to 6 degrees, so I don't know what he is talking about. Some insite please as to what he is talking about. thanks

With a DRB III we set the sync signal to 0
there is no instructions to set the timing with a light
If your lucky there's a punch mark on the base of the dist that should get you close

I'm a Dealership Technician, the DRB III is the scan tool we use to diagnose/repair computer controlled vehicles
to set base timing we use the DRB III .... Not a timing light
