K&N air intake kit
Has anyone tried to install a K&N filter intake kit on a truck with a 3" body lift?
There are only two options as I see it:
1. Install a 3" spacer between the throttle body and intake tube.
a. Will this allow to much air flow/turbulance and cancle out the kit?
b. Will the sensor still be able to adjust mixture?
2. Cut and adjust the tube at the heat sheild box.
I spoke with K&N and they have no data as they have not done any testing due to a body lift.
Someone has had to attempt this prior to me, if you have any thoughts please post em..
Techs???
Thanks

I can't believe no one has any input on this?
Must not be that many trucks around with a body lift and K&N filter set up?
I just got two 1.5" inch spacers to combine; I plan on installing them today.
I will provide an update later.

Your better off building new brackets to make it fit, rather than adding a tb spacer. some metal pipe tape can help hold the intake up. If you are willing to machine a TB spacer, you should have now problems machining new brackets.
Thanks for the reply.........
I got hold of a 1 1/2" air cleaner riser and installed that between the K&N intake and TB. It seems to be working fine.....
I need to check the OBD II so I can see what the air fuel mixture is doing?
Not sure how much the 1 1/2" spacer has effected flow and the air/fuel mixture settings?
