I was towing a boat for my buddy the other day and the trailer popped off and wrecked my tailgate. Anybody know a good source for a new or used one for my 04. The dealer wants over $400 for a new one. Thanks

 

I would find out if a tailgate from an '02 or '03 is the same as one for an '04. If so, then contact a local salvalge yard and see if they can locate one in the color you need, and what the price would be. That's one approach.

Another approach is to contact Art at Henson Motors in Madisonville, Texas. Their phone number is 1-800-530-Jeep. He seems to be pretty fair about pricing. Don't know if he can provide it painted to match or not.
