Are you stripping the old paint down to bare metal yourself?? LOL!!

My paint job cost just over $2,700 with MINOR body work and hanging two new doors... and I got a deal cause I knew the shop.

My Elco paint job is looking to be around 2K with me doing all the work. That is just materials. Type in "auto paint" into a search engine and see how much paint costs. A medeocre paint system with primer/base/clear easily runs 500-700 in materials. Somebody still has to do the work. My truck, granted it wasn't in the greatest shape to start has over 60 hours in it and I haven't started bodywork yet-thats just sanding/stripping/prepping.

OOoh I should add, my truck has one coat of primer and 5 coats of color and clear coat. Hence, the price went up cause of materials.

Just keep in mind that u get what u pay for and the prep work is the most important part of a good paint job.

I missed that story. Why did you have to hang two new doors? Did that SRT-10 that was chasing you finally decide to blow your doors off?

No, the SRT-10 and I played around last month, I had her painted last summer. Why be mean about it, eh?

I had two doors hung because the truck original door's had the typical rust damage on the bottom of them and I got two new ones for free that had no rust. It was cheaper to hang two new doors instead of fixing the rust damage on the original ones.
