Default Lift kit

Hi everyone! I'm spanking new here & to 4x4s & was wondering what the diff. is between a leveling kit and a lift kit, if any?
Also, do bed covers really help M.P.G.? Thanks...RAMS RULE!!!

a leveling kit just lifts the front 2 inches to sit level with the back

a lift kit raises the whole truck, front and back, and levels at the same time

Yuppers, Chauncy hit it right on in the head. And, ya, you might notice a lil increase in mpg with a bed cover. just like if you pulled the tailgate with no cover.. less drag, more mpg. not alot id guess, maype pick up 1mpg.

I experimented with the tailgate up/down when I first got my truck because my father swears leaving it down helps MPG. Well, mine actually went down about 1 MPG. I noticed in a heavy rain one day that at about 50 or above, the rain no longer hit the tailgate. I would assume that wind does something similar. My dad's doesn't do that until much faster. His is a standard cab and long bed. Maybe it's because the QC has a longer roof line that keeps the wind out of my short bed at a lower speed. A tonneau cover or cap might help even more since it would probably keep the air up high, but that's just a guess.

i had my new ram for a full 300 miles or 1 tank of gas without my Extang Tuff Tonno and got like 9mpg city(stop go stop go) and 13 highway(75mph) then i purchased the cover and it went to 10.5-12mpg city and 16-18mpg highway. btw its a QC short bed. its a soft cover so theres still some drag. but im sure if i went hard later on down teh road it might help some more or maybe stay the same. to me it helped but not everone will get the same results.
