Default Best tire MT or At

I'm getting some new tires for my 97 ext. cab 4 x 4. I'm going with some procomps 305/70/16. I can't decide which I want though .. the MT or the AT. I love the looks of the Mt but wonder how it will do in the snow and rain. Any help would be appreciated. I don't do much offroading and only drive about 12000 local miles. Also I'm getting some new rims. Mickey Classic 2 or American Racing Ventura. Any suggestions on which one??

Thanks in advance.

Mud tires are pretty good in the snow but suk in rain. they are also loud on the highway and do not last as long if u do mostly on road driving which it sounds like u do. However AT suk in the mud but are good for most all other off roading and just fine on road. Just dont expect either one to last as long as a regular street tire. I had a set of 265-75-16 on my GMC full size and they only lasted about 30000 miles of 95% road driving, the mud tires on my wrangler didnt make it much more than 20000 miles under similar conditions. but they looked cool!

I've had really good luck in the past with BFG A/T's. If you want to stick with the Pro COmp in your situation I would go with the A/T's, they have a 50,000 mile gurantee.

I prefer the look and the traction of MT. They handle great in the snow and I do my share of off road play. But like Srt 8 guy said if your driving mostly on the paved road your going to wear those tires down quick and before you know it you'll be buying new tires. MT handle great in the snow and mud but nothing a AT tire with the help of 4x4 cant do also.

Living in Wyoming, BFG AT work great! Excellent snow/ice traction (I have driven past chained chevys). MT may do alright on snow, but are horrible on ice...too much lug, not enough footprint. I also spend quite a bit of time in the Big Horn Mountains hunting and cutting firewood off trail. They have never let me down. Good mileage and quiet on the highways.
