Default Towing question. Moving from Dakota to Ram 1500

Hi. I've been towing an 18 foot Crownline bowrider on a single axle Eagle trailer with my 2002 Dakota SXT. I just bought a 2004 Ram 1500 SLT 4x4 Quad and was wondering if I needed a different ball mount than the one I've been using (straight ball mount). Maybe a 2" or 4" dropdown ? The Ram seems quite a bit higher than the Dakota.

Any tips are appreciated !!

I have the exact same boat & trailer. My truck is a '98 Ram 1500 4x4, and I use a 4" drop. Have had no probs. and trailer looks pretty level to me.

I've got a 2002 and love it too. The weather here in New England has also been disapointing. I'm hoping for a SEVERE warming trend.

I may have delivered your boats to the dealer. I drive for crownline. Glad to hear you like them. Charlie
