I have a 2002 QC 1500 4X4 with the 20" rims. Not a fan, and would like to go with a more tire and less wheel under my truck. I want to run a 33x12.5x17 A/T tire, probably a BFG, I believe it will fit w/o a lift. Now for the rim, I know 17" is the smallest diameter I can go to clear my calipers. What is the width and backspacing you guys are using? I have also heard some 17" don't clear the calipers (propably wrong backspacing), so what brands are you using? I like the Mickey Thompson Classic II any users out there?

You are correct that 33's will fit with no mods. I am running 285/70R17's(33's) BFG Mud Terrains with stock rims. There are more pics in the gallery. As for the backspacing, you can do is go to the wheel shop and look in their book and see what the back spacing is on the stock 17's.

Be advised that if you do go down to 17's you should go and get your pinion factor redone. Yes there is such a thing. It would need to be reprogramed to accomidate the different tire size. if not your speedometer and odometer will be way off. After you you do that then get the flux capictior checked. Just kidding about the flux capictor.

i am selling brand new weld racing rims 17" at half the price i bought them for and 35" tires... i was planning to lift my QC up but gas prices really screwed things up for me and now im going back to school.. so i cant afford to do it right now... the 17's i got have a 4.5 backspacing which will be perfect... the lift i was gonna get required that amount of backspacign so i know your 4x4 will be well off with that set amount... if interested just let me know... thanks
