Default Gas Mileage

I have a 04 Dodge Quad Cab 4.7 V8. Is there anything I can do to help bring my gas mileage up.

A K&N and using synthetic fluids will help some.
A cat back exhaust will give a mile or so in some cases and if fit correct.
other than that u need a light foot.
What kind of mileage are you getting ?

Yikes @ 11.5 that would get real expensive!

I have the 04 Quad with the Hemi and even putting my foot in it I still get 16.7 mpg as the worst.
On average I get 17 around town and 19-20 on the Highway pretty easy with a light foot.
I have the 3.55 rear with 17's though also, which help quite a bit .

I get around 13 with a mix of highway and around town. I just got the truck and am looking for ways to help me out on the gas end, if possible.
I have the 20in rims.. dont know if that makes a hill of beans!

Powerslave: what exactly is K&N and a cat back exhaust? What does it do? I am not exactly auto mechanicly smart!!!

Thanks for your help!

Another thing that helps is a bed cover. I've noticed my mileage increase, especially on the freeway.

I have an 04 quad cab w/ a Hemi. With about 2000 miles on her, I'm getting around 16.0 mpg around town and highway combined. Also have a K&N air filter, custom dual exhaust, bed cover (Tuxedo), 20 inch wheels, and use cruise control as often as possible. ;I changed the oil initially at 1500 miles and I'm using Mobil 1 synthetic. Supposedly, around 3500 ~ 5000 miles, the engine 'breaks in', giving more power and a little better gas mileage, at least accordingly to my service manager. Get a better (read that as breaths easier, but still filters) air filter (K&N or maybe an Air Hog by Fram), bed cover of some type, and use your cruise control. Remember, the difference between 55 and 75 is 20% decrease in your gas mileage. Do the speed limit for a tank of gas and see what happens. Good luck.

It will take a while but My Wife just got the Quad Hemi with the 20's and 3.91 rear, after she gets it broke in I'll drive hers to work a few days and see if there is a big dif in mileage between the 20's and 17's I am very curious myself on that one.
One thing that seems odd is mine with the 3.55 rear and 17 ' wheels seems to have a lot more punch off the line than hers .
The one with the 20's and 3.91 seems a lot more sluggish I would have though exactly the opposite in that regard.

Only bad thing now is having to make 2 truck payments
