Default Flowmaster sound.

The flowmaster 40 series, how loud is this muffler inside a 98' Quad Cab, 6.5' bed? I am going to dump it after the muffler as soon as it comes in(any time this week, I cant wait!!!) But I was just curious of how it sounds inside the cabin.

Mike.

quite a bit in the backseat, and a little more than my stock muffler - 4 inch dual tips did inside

my stereo turned up a third of the way overpowers it unless I stomp it, but then I'm not worried about noise :P

especially in the passenger side backseat is quite a bit of noise, if you're friends with people who don't speak very loud in the first place put conversations on hold

It should deepen quit a bit. Sometimes when I'm parked next to a car with an alarm, the deep tone sets their alarm off! Gas mileage will probably suck because you will want to "rack em up" all the time or at least I do.

First of all please let me say HI as this is my first post to the forum... I just bought my Ram 2 weeks ago and am definately LOVING it so far!

I dont know about a 98 specifically but I just put a Flowmaster 40 series with dual pipes straight out the back on my 2002 Quad Cab and have one word AWESOME! The sound is incredible... I say its sounds like a mustang on steroids. I used to love the sound of my bosses harley truck but my truck kicks its a.. in the sound department for sure! but anyway ... to more closely answer your question the sound is definately very noticeable in the cab but isnt that why you are getting it? Its not like it is deafening just noticable and very cool.

Hope this helps!

it is gonna be real loud since u r dumping it right after the muffler. plus not gonna have much backpressure u might want to run some pipes out the back or side and get some nice chrome tips to cap it of. JUST MY OPINION

well i installed my exhuast yesterday, but forgot the pics... so im gonna go take some and
get some sounds too... ill post in an hour or so...
otherwise i think the exhaust sounds real good, nice deep, not too loud...
plus it's dumped right after the muffler, i did notice a tad bit off loss on the bottom end.
im gonna have my custom 3inch tailpipe bent in place soon.
