Aftermarket LSD?

Hello everyone!
I have an 04 QC 4x2 Hemi with a 3.92 rear, no LSD. I've been in a couple situations where I really NEEDED the LSD. Being "stuck" in your own back yard with one wheel spinning is just embarassing.
Also, spinning on wet pavement is a regular event and I'd sure like both tires to grab.
Anyone ever put in a LSD aftermarket?
Did you do it yourself or have someone do it for you?
How much should this run me?
Thanks!
Mike

I put in a full locker, Powertrax Lockright.. and that was easy. Real easy. Id take a locker over a lsd.. but thats me. Ima gonna look for a ARB Air locker, or Eatons new electronic locker when i get my truck lifted. whole lot more work, but i like the idea of being locked.. or not.

LSD is the way to go for a street vehicle. A locker is just that, a locker. It doesn't allow the wheels to turn at different speeds in turns like the LSD does. If you off-road your truck, or have a race vehicle, the locker is an advantage.
It takes some talent and know-how to properly install the LSD. I've done only one and it went OK. I suppose it depends on how comfortable you are with this type of work. It can be as simple as pulling the axles, changing out the differential unit, swapping the ring gear, and re-installing everything. You may want to find a procedure for doing it.
Another possibility is to find a complete rearend and swap that.
Good luck.

Yea, I'm thinking paying a Pro to do it would be the best thing unless it's not too hard. Since this is a new truck, I'd probably lean away from doing this myself.
How much do you think this would cost?

I installed an auburn posi in my 04 dodge 1500.It was not bad doing it my self but it took some time. That one of the best things I have done to my truck. overall I spent about $500.

Won't you be voiding some, if not all of your warrarnty by doing this though? Or is that not that important. I'm just wondering not trying to be sarcastic.

legally the warrarnty can be void not shure if it is a federal law a california law. if you put in an aftermarket parts or modify your vehicle if you do take it to a dealer the most they can do is make you pay for the parts and labor that brake .but Before they can do that they have to prove that the part broke do to the modifcation that you have done.
