Default meaner look

I have a '99 5.9 4x4 1500, and i love the look of the Off-road editions, and the 2500's..how they sit just a LITTLE higher than my 4x4, but i don't have the money for a suspension lift, and i don't even think they make them that small, and i HATE the frame exposed that comes with a body lift, is there a way to get my truck to sit just that little bit higher, just to look a little meaner??

You can just replace the front springs with either 2500 or 3500 series springs, but you might have to get longer shocks, I heard those springs give you about 2.5" or so, just enought to almost level out your truck, to make it look, how you say meaner.
eBay for sometimes 25 bucks, plus shocks.

Or you can just get lifted springs that are from someone like skyjacker, they come in all kinds of sizes. 2" is the most I think you can get without changing shocks.
Somewhere around $130.

Or you can just get spacers put in on your stock springs. 2" of lift again.
about 100 bucks.

This will all bring the your truck up in the front and level it out with the back since it sits something like 3" higher or so. Giving you that meaner look.

If you want to lift the back, you can get blocks on the leaves, or you can get an add-a-leaf (AAL)

I was looking into it also, haven't gotten around to doing anything yet.

Thats my 2.

instead of standing looking at your truck, kneel and look, should instantly make it look much higher.

i got springs off of ebay for like 130 shipped.
but if you want to lift use the coil spring spacers.........
off of ebay for like 115 shipped, if you do change the coils the ride is stiffer.
deffinately.

I'd love to lift my truck about another 4 inches but I am very hesitant... I may just end up going with bigger tires..

To put 4" of lift out of tires is probably not going to happen without some kind of lift. It might fit but it would rub on turns. Besides if you go with really big tires you need to regear. Do something simple, like coils or spacers and add-a-leaf or body lift, then put tires under it.

are there any benifits to putting spacers in the front such as a smoother ride and better handling? or is it purely for looks? are there any drawbacks?

If you get coils you get stiffer ride, I don't know much about the rest but I know if you plan to upgrade in the future(go higher) you can reuse spacers with other coils.

If you buy spacers for a 2" lift, how do you get these in the spring?? I have never lifted a truck......but like the idea of lifting the front 2" to level it out.
