Default Need help on installing speakers...

I have a single cab 1999 Ram, I just bought new speakers for it, after installing the front speakers, the left one never did work, so i took apart the dash and took out the radio, i unplugged everything and realized i had no idea what i was doing. Put it all back togethor, the left speaker works until it hits a certain volume then it just stops. Any idea of whats happening?

For the back speakers i never could figure out how to get the panel off the truck to get to the speaker. I know someone has done this before so any advice will be good advice.

check the wiring coming out of the speaker. if the speaker is vibrating or moving at all the wires could be shorting against some metalwork in the door which would explain why they stop. maybe try running the speaker whilst its on the front seat if the wires reach, it wo.uld at least remove that possibility and narrow the search. or it could be a amp problem where its shutiing the left side for some reason,

I've already tried that, the speaker will work when this one specific clip in the back of the radio is unplugged then plugged back in, but when volume goes too high the speaker just cuts out.

I have a few things i need to know first,

1.) stock or aftermarket HU?
2.) are wires crimped, soddered, or ghetto rigged?
3.) are they wired in phase or out of phase?

Alright the guy who owned the truck before me installed a 10 disk changer, the radio however is stock. But the guy spliced the wires himself installing the changer.

from my experience with stereos, id say go back and redo everything he did.... you never know if somebody else just cobbed something up so its always best to check and double check... solder connections and make sure you insulate them when you are finished...
