Default Problem with New RAM

Hi Guys,

I am a new Dadge Ram owner, my first dodge, and I am enjoying the information on this site, thanks.

Unfortunatly I have had an issue with my 04 RAM QC HEMI last friday and was wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing. Was making a left turn onto my street and the truck quit. Would only start once I gave it gas and it ran like crap and would not idle, kept quitting. I have only had the truck for 12 days and it has 350km on it. Dropped it off at the dealership at 5:30pm on Friday and off course they were closing so they couldn't look at it until today. Anyway they called me today and said that the PCM module needed repalcing and it would be 4 or 5 days until they could get the part. Has anyone else had this same problem?

By the way the gave me a rental which happens to be an F150 QC. The worst part about this is having to answer questions from people as to why my new 40,000CAD truck is in the dealership after 350kms!!! Not to mention the abuse I am taking from my buddies who love thier Fords and my father who has always had Chevs.

Thanks
Kevin

I have an 04 QC HEmi and have almost 600 miles on it and have not had any problems. Ask your buddies if they think that ford has never produced a vehicle with an error in it

You probably just got at truck with a bad module in it. I mean it sucks, but life goes on. Now, if you keep having problems with it then you've got issues.

Gotta agree with Arcane on this one. Fords and GMs never break down,,,right.[sm=smiley29.gif]

You know why 9 out 10 Chevys are still on the job don't you? That's where they broke down.[sm=lol.gif]

Ya I know you guys are probably right, but it still sucks. Hopefully this will be the only issue i have for a while. Good News is I get to beat the crap out of a Ford for the next few days

In the electronic world, if a part is going to break, it ususally will happen in the 1st few months of use. This is caused by an electrical overstress on the part that fails, ESD damage but to a lesser extent. years back I read a report done by lockheed that analyzed 2000+ parts for their failures & a large number of them failed due to ESD damage, others had EOS (electrical over stress) damage. As mentioned earlier, it is probably a fluke that it happend to you, but I would expect it would not happen again.'

My Trans went out at 700 miles. My dealer gave me a temporary truck to get around, and installed a new trans. 3 months later they handed me the keys to a new truck!

My AC lines went bad and UPS lost one in the shipment so my truck is still at the dealership waiting.
