RE: KEYLESS ENTRY RUMOR
Hi
I got a 99 RAM 2500 with the keyless entry function.
When I bought the truck thetransmitter was missing. I did buy a new one but I do not know how to program it to work with my truck.
Anybody know how to programthetransmitter ?
Thanks

RE: KEYLESS ENTRY RUMOR
I just put a keyless entry in my 02 ram 1500. I called the dealership and he said no problem. My truck origanlly came from the factory without keyless. It cost about 250.00 bucks to get it installed. All you have to do is buy the transmitter for inside the truck and your key fobs. The service manager was telling me that it's cheaper to put all the wiring in for every component offered. This way on the assembly line they don't have to customize a certain number of vehicles. They just leave the wires that are not going to be used capped off. It makes perfect sense. I know for a fact that Chevy and GM do the same thing. It's just cost effective.

RE: KEYLESS ENTRY RUMOR
Are you talking just the key fobs that you can get off of ebay? You would have to make sure that your vehicle already has the transmitter in it. I know for 02 model 1500s if you did'nt have keyless from the factory you need to get that also.

RE: KEYLESS ENTRY RUMOR
On 2002 thru 2005 1500's and 2003 thru 2005 2500/3500's you can get part # 82207153 from a dealer for about $100.00. This comes with 2 key fobs and the module. Installs on back of instrument cluster.
