visor questions

I was wondering if the visor above the windshield caused less mpg. I got my 5.2 Ram used and its only getting about 10 mpg. Ive been hearing about other people saying that thats what there getting in their 5.9.

our 5.9 w/o the visor gets about 17 mpg city and highway combined but it probally does since it causes wind resistance
