I would keep them, makes getting in & out easier and they protect the rocker panels. Me being 6'1" I have to hop a little to get into mine with a 2 1/2" lift. My little woman (5'1") needs help to get in
which I like alot (she laughs most of the time) but I'm gonna have to break down & get some.
bottom line KEEP them.

Not always true, if you land on a rock you will push the nerf bar into the body.
ORIGINAL: grayghost
When four wheeling they protect the cab, especially if you rock crawl or drive in deep ruts.

I am not "allowed" to take them off... my wife is 5'3 and needs them.

But I think they look good anyway. on an '02 SLT i have a little less chrome than the '04... only 17's and the grill is different .. not so much chrome.
so i am all for the Nerfs

Some people tell me that I should have nerf bars put on mine but that would totally look wrong on my truck! I think it's fine the way it is. I'm just thankful that I'm 5'8 so I don't have to jump too much to get in..just a bit![Big Grin](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

I have posted an opinion on this forum, but I didn't want to leave you out!
I personally hate them, along with most anything that can be purchased at "K-Mart, WAL-MART, and so on)
Less is more? You certainly have a truck worth looking at, and a big enough boy to get into without a step!
If need be, do something else other than the general public.
I also call all these upgrade aftermarket do-dads, K-Mart Rash, or Wal-Mart Rash...
My favorite is "curb feelers" same thing, not exactly necessary.
Again, just an opinion, and they all stink just like "A-HOLES"
Good Luck
