Default s relcoil loses fire during crankup

Yo!

I tried gen tech 1st, but no response. My 86 D150 318 won't fire until the instant the start position is released. Then once out of 6 or seven tries, it'll start (if a piston is in the right position that instant)

I've changed spark control unit, start switch, coil, dist. module, start relay and still the same. Got a clue?? Thanks!

I think the ballast resistor is in the electronic spark control unit, at least I've turned the truck upside down looking for one and can't. But Thanks for your input!
