Default Exhaust Advice

Hi there,

Any help would be wonderful,

I want to get a new muffler set up for my baby. Thought i had it all down and ready to go, did the online reasearch and decided i wanted to get a Magnaflow 14589. Then i spoke to a local dealer. He is a good guy and in fact is also linked on the official Magnaflow website so i assume he knows what he's talking about, when i told him what truck i had he advised me to be very careful what i do. Seems that the 2004 Hemi's have changes from the 2003. He went on to explain that he has had a lot of trouble getting a suitable setup on the 2004, told me about 1 customer that is on his 5th configuration. He kinda warned me that with the 04, i should go listen to a few setups before i spend the money, he explained to me that otherwise the truck can be very noisy and has serious problems with droning caused by resonence.

Any idea's or good set up out there ????

I've heard good things concerning the Magnaflow. Take a look at the piping under your truck now and notice that it's already mandrel bent. You can get away with just a muffler vs. the system.

Sorry guy, I'm not running the Magnaflow. I have heard good things about them about the sound and noise levels. I wish I knew what the stock one was, but I'm sure most aftermarket mufflers would be better, soundwise. It's hard to say from a prformance standpoint what would be best. I'm not sure I trust companies and there so called gains. With the piping that the truck already has, the muffler would be the place to gain something, if anything is there to gain. Aside from an exhaust manifold change anyway.
