2003 rims on a 2001 1500?

Thanks. I understand now that the 2003 studs are 9/16 and the 2001's are 1/2". So, that would arguably make the wheel holes just a 16th wider and at least suggest that they'd fit on the 2001, perhaps with a bit of slop that the centering lug nuts would correct. I've never had a car where the wheel to stud tolerances were that close. I put the question as well to Dodge, which has yet to reply. Tire Rack simply responded that the studs have different diameters and that it would not be a good fit. I'd like to be certain, however, as the 2003 wheel/tire combinations appear to be widely available at very good prices from you 2003 owners upgrading. Has anyone actually tried/done it? 2. Assuming it won't work, what is optimum tire and size for th 2001's 16" alloy wheel? Mike.
