Drag Racing my baby
My buddies talked me into puttin my '02 on the track to see my quarter mile time. I've got some bolt on HP jumps, not to bad for the 4.7L but nuthin incredible. They all watch me smoke them off the line, but on the drag strip I have a feeling it will be a different story. Don't want to get embarassed. Any last minute suggestions?? (I have 2 weeks)
That truck should run pretty good. Try and find some spare wheels and get some drag radials, or at least drop the pressure on your stock tires several pounds. There isn't much advantage to trying to heat street tires, so you might want to stay out of the water as best you can and do a couple dry hops to see how it will hook.
Put the tailgate down if you don't have a bed cover.
Make sure the engine is cool. Don't sit there and idle while your in the lanes.
Keep your windows rolled up.
Don't dump the clutch when coming off the line. Just ease into it.

mopartodd,
thanks alot for the input, now I just hope I don't blow anything up. Everytime I think about sittin there waiting for the green light I get pumpedc up. I'll post something about how I do and maybe some pics when its all over with.
Any other suggestions???
