Default shaker hood

Has anyone put a shaker hood on their hemi ram? I'm just wondering what it would look like. I seen a hood before on a hemi ram adn it had a scoop type vent thing that opened up when you give it some gas. the more your push the pedal down the further it opens. But i was just wondering about a shaker.

I think one of the new Truckin mags has an 04 Ram with a functional shaker hood on it. The truck was badass too!

I agree that the scoop on the shaker hoods for the Ram looks really small and doesn't fit the truck with it being that size. If it were larger it would look great.

As for that hood, not a fan of it on anything except a Trans Am.

I must be mistaken on what a shaker hood is/was. A Shaker hood to me is a scoop attached to the engine...there is nothing on the hood other than a hole. The Ford Mustang Mach1 (69.5) with the 428 was a shaker hood. There are shaker hoods out there...but the 2 pics above are just different shapes of ram air scoops the way I was taught. It got its name shaker because it shook with the vibrations of the engine.

You're right about what a shaker hood is.

I believe he was just asking for opinions on the ram air hood, not claiming it to be a shaker hood. At least thats the way I took it.

The hood scoop/vent that opens is called an "air grabber". Going by the Oct 04 Truckin mag, it's a Pro-Finish/Pro-Glass Air Grabber. Here is the web site. They also make the "Shaker" hood. http://www.profinish-proglass.com/
