Default 96' 1500 4x4 Tranny Noise

I've been trying to isolate a Growling bearing type noise, 1st thought it was the Tensionor Pully Bearing. Replaced it, part of the noise went away but the growling sound has gotten worse. Check the Alt and Water pump both OK. It only happens in gear while exclerating at about half throttle or under load which makes it hard to identify. It is worse before it warms up. The truck runs just fine but I feel something is getting ready to go. Can the touque Converter create noise? The truck has about 90K on it.

Any idea's????

Thanks

Well thanks for the help everyone!!!! It ended up being the Catalitic Converter, guts busted loose. Sometime you just have to figure it out for yourself I guess...
