Hi all, first post here.
Looking at buying this truck but it has a problem shifting into second. Sometimes you have to manualy put in second gear then back into drive when it needs to shift into third. The truck has 130000 miles on it, not sure if this is the original tranny or not. Any idea's?
Other then that it looks good, needs tires and brakes.
The price seems right $4500 for the truck, local tranny shops say anywere from $1700-$2200 to rebuild it.
Any comments would be appriciated.

Mine is in the shop now over a simular issue, "wont shift smooth from 2nd to 3rd". My problem was found with a pressure check and determined to be a bad valve body by the shop. Shop said I could have the valve body fixed and things should be fine but Im going with a total rebuild since i got the warranty covering most of it.
I gave $10,900 for my truck with 86k on it..... your looking at $6,700 with a rebuilt tranny. Not bad imo if the truck is clean and runs strong. I looked at a 2000 model locally for $4000 but it was ragged out pretty good, lots of rust etc...
