universal coolant question
I have a 2006 Dodge sprinter 3500, today it occurred to me that the water pump is going out, but that is not my question. While on the road the low-coolant indicator light came on, so I promptly stopped at the nearest auto parts store, they told me that there is a specific anti-freeze fluid that this vehicle uses, however they said that I could use a universal one and it would do fine for the time being until I get this serviced.
Is this true, would I be alright doing that for a minimum amount of time? The engine is not over heating still at 180 degrees... Please help me sleep better tonight.
Thanks people.
