I just finished rebuilding a transmission for an '05 Sprinter and am now running into problems that I believe lie in the valve body. The 2-3 overlap regulator valve doesn't seem to want to move properly. The valve itself looks fine, no burs or scratches. Same with the valve body. Everything is torqued down right but when the truck shifts into 3rd the trans shuts down and the wheels nearly lock up. Voltage is correct in all the right places and there are no more transmission codes. Did taking the valve body off/apart warp it? Any help would be great.

 

The problem maybe the valve body itself. I have had sticking valve before.

I can't remember exactly which one but one of the clutch pack retaining rings had broken. If you try to rebuild one of these things buy new rings.

 

Thanks for the update, any idea on what the average life is on these NAG1's in the sprinter cargo vans. With proper maintenance and not overloading.
