Default trans problems/shifter

anyone out there experienced these problems with the sprinter? after starting the vehicle the gear shifter stays locked in park. have to manually unlock and then i only get 1 forward and reverse gears. wait about 5 mins then i get all the gears. while driving for a while stays in drive. will not kick down and you cant manually d- or d+ even after stopping then losing the gear selection display in the console completely. dealer has replaced the brake swith and the shifter assy $700!!!!! any info would be appreciated.

There is a Transmission control module, it's located under you're driver seat. Slide you're drivers seat as far forward as possible this should give you access. There is also a cover on the side of the seat pedistal, but I believe this only gives you access to fueses.

Have you bumped into anything recently? I bumped the car in front of me and that set some sensor off where the same thing you are talking about happened. My Sprinter dealer had to reset something that fixed it.
