Default What tires do you run?

I guess I should start with a brief intro since I'm new here. My name is Bryan and I'm an independent contractor for FedEx Home Delivery in which I service my area with a 2003 Sprinter. Currently I have been running the BF Goodrich commercial traction's on the read and the Firestone transforce AT's on the front. With this tire combo I did run into a problem with the tire's outside diameter's being slightly different. It caused problems with the traction control triggering the brakes, luckily the '03 lets you turn off the traction control and have it stay off even at speeds above 40 MPH. I was recently on tirerack.com looking into tires and even some of the off brands such as kumo have decent ratings. The reason I've been running the commercial tractions is because they come with 17-18/32nds tread depth and I can get 6 months out of them on the rear. Now 6 months may not sound like a whole lot but I do a lot of stop and go while delivering. I guess my question is what tire's has everyone had good luck with here? I'm looking for cheap yet good ratings. I depnd on this truck to get me thru the day and home everyday and I need something that has good traction all around, and has very good tread wear. Please let me know what you use your sprinter for and what type of milage you're doing.

My 2006, 2500 cargo came with Michilin's. Their tire warranty doesn't cover road hazard so I purchased just road hazard on all of my tires for $100 @ Discount Tires. I drive some pretty bad roads in the Houston area, so I figured I couldn't go wrong. The warranty cost only half of the replacement cost of one tire.

best results was with michelins. Run the same tire on all the wheels this way you can rotate them and make then all last longer.

I also use Michilens, currentlt I have 32000 miles on them and am at about 50% tread wear. You can hardly go wrong with them. I once had Bridgestones on my previous van, got 26,000 total miles before they crapped out on me, I'll never buy them. I think Firestone and Bridgestone are similar or co-owned companys with the same build quality. They just don't last.

Well now, looks like there are not many high milage sprinters on these forums. There are a few reason I don't go back to the michilens, first being is the don't have to aggresive tread I need to get me out of some of the rural diveways and backroads. Second being they just don't hold up to the stop and go 250+ miles a day 5 days a week as well as the tires I have mentioned. Also the Commercial tractions are studable for even better winter weather traction. You may think I'm crazy but to me it's not worth it to rotate my tire in the conventional sense. I'm only allowed to run tires down to 4/32nds on the front while I can go down to 2/32nds on the rear. The front tires last longer than the rears, being the rears are your drive tires, it doesnt make sense to put tires with less tread on the front to have them wear evenly. I'd much rather buy two tires at a time, wait another 2 months and buy new ones for the front. I'm currently about to turn 200,000 on the ODO, I'm hoping she last a few more years with as little problems as I've had.
