Default aftermarket radio

radio installed all works except steering wheel controls. is theis normal for aftermarket radios or is something not hooked up right?

what do you mean by the steering wheel controls? And maybe something is plugged in the wrong place, or you might of accidently pulled something loose installing it.

the steering wheel controls dont work with aftermarket head units only the stock one.

Had installed Dodge aftermarket parts such as radio and definitely it only works with stock head units... Needless to say that aftermarket parts are not so reliable when it comes to quality... I had so many worse experiences with this kinds of parts and really learned the hard way... Some are ok but most of it are not fit in most Dodge... Goodluck!!!

The RT trim (and maybe ES) has controls on the steering wheel for AM/FM, volume, channel presets.
