idling problem - Help
I have a 91 RT/TT with 117k miles on it, pearl white. I recently purchased the car as is so I knew that the car was not perfect when I bought it. The interior is imaculate, here is the problem. The car will not idle, I took the computer in to have it tested and the computer is fine. Attempted several times to retrieve the fault codes but I don't receive any. I messed around with the idle screw today and the car idled rough for about 10 minutes. Also I drove the car a couple a days ago and it ran very sluggish, this was new because I had driven it before and it would take all the gas and shift out properly. I'm thinking this is either the IAC, MAS or the TB, or the sensors. Any help would be appreciated. Also I spoke with a mechanic and he explained that my problem has something to do with the amount of air the car is receiving. Thanks again.
Sounds like you have it pretty well narrowed down. I am not to famililar with to much on a TT motor, but have you checked for boost leaks?

Thanks for the info, I took the car in to the local Dodge dealership so that they can tell me exactly what the problem is. I will probably repair the car myself because their prices are ridiculously high. Thanks again, and I will post exactly what the problem is when I get the call from the dealership.
Have you been able to figure out what the problem is yet? I think I may have the same type of problem with my 94 3000 GT SL. The car will try to start, chug and die. If I keep the gas in, it will stay running fine. It seems to be intermittent though b/c sometimes, it will run just fine. Other times, if I start to stop or slow down to about 1000rpm, the car will just shutdown (a little scary in a turn). The shop is trying to tell me it may be the IAC, some dashpot (sp?), or the entire TB complex. They seem unsure, so I'd like to get some more opinions before I let them troubleshoot at my expense. I've put way too much money into this car already. Thanks.
This problem sounds very similar to a problem I had with my RT. It was very intermittent, as it would go weeks without having a problem. I replaced the IAC, plugs, wires, et. al. It would seem to go away, then come back, seemingly out of the blue. I finally broke down and sent my ECU to ECMtogo.com in Texas. They replaced the known faulty capacitors and had to replace a daughter board in addition to that. I spent about 600$ on it because I also sent in my ECS controller and the TCU at the same time. All three boards have the same weak capacitors on them. You might be able to pick up a rebuilt ECU at O'reilly type places as well for about 250$.
