About his car - it was sputtering for a couple days then all of a sudden died and won't start, he had the ECU rebuilt by Cardone and he believes it's the Cam Sensor?

WHAT is the chances it's 'just' the cam sensor and what is the chances it could be something worse ?

I appreciate any help given, this is difficult for me to justify going from 1 running car to 1 awesome (dead) car. it maybe the top of the line (but it's not running)

Any time my car ever broke, which has been a few times, its only had one problem each time. I am sure multiple things could break at once, especially ones that work together in the engine, but I also think it would be unlikely if its a sensor.
