i'm new at working on my son's stealth r/t, has anyone installed a jdm motor and trans?? i have a 92 r/t that we installed a jdm mill (91 motor/trans). as i siad before, it cranks but won't start. the ecm looks good inside, doesn't appear to be leaking anything, could i be having ground problems?? has anyone experience anything like this? ive got spark, 200# compression(all 6), fuel pressure, injectors spraying fuel, timing is dead on, acccording to the dyagnostic computer at the garage, everything is dead on , but won't fire!! is this a jdm problem?? again, i need help on this before we just through money at it or a bazooka shell!!!! i love these cars, but what a pain in the @%&!!!!!!!!!!! could the power transmitter module be bad??? hellllppppp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been repairing my '95 Dodge Stealth R/T 3.0 L DOHC since Dec. 06, after purchase in Oct. '06 and 600 miles, the engine came apart because of the same reasons it was repaired before I purchased it.
JDM engine from a Diamonte replaces the Original engine, plugged in and fired right up, no problems. Drove the Stealth another 700 miles and the transmission goes out...The kid owner before me really abused this car. And the dealer patched it up to sell....
The JDM transmission has been installed this week, but the story on it is not as Great, the shifting of the transmission is Crazy. Take off is like being in a dragster, engine goes to 4000 rpm, shifts to second, second rev's to 5000 rpm before shifting to third, then BAM your cruising, OK ! Fine ! Just don't shove down on the gas, then the transmission goes into neutral, let off the gas and the tranny reingages, then your fine until you have to stop and take off again. Oh, and OD works fine as well....
Waiting for some reason for this, no codes from computer, no problem before the swap, wondering if this tranny came from a SOHC rather than a DOHC. Will a TCM from a SOHC take care of the problem ???

The TCM shouldn't matter, the transmissions are the same between an SOHC and an DOHC.

Auto trannies are so hard to trouble shoot in real life, they are almost impossible to trouble shoot on the net. My best advice would be to take it too a reputable tranny shop and have them look at it. Or have the other one rebuilt and limp the car along until you can swap in the rebuilt one.
