Default wheels and tires

I searched the forum for some wheel and tire posts and found some good ones but im still a little lost on what would fit my car. I have a 93' Base model. So from what i read all the offsets r the same with all the cars. right? and if i go a bigger wheel im supposed to go to a lower profile of tire? so if i want to get 17's what profile should i get??? Does anyone know any good online places to look for wheels and tires.. like a combo or somthing. i know there is ebay, tirerack, wheelmax. r there any other ones that u suggest? Im lookin for some bronze wheels. my car is a teal color so i think it would look good. All try and get some pics of my car so u could give me some tips and what not. All help and commets are appreciated. Thanks

i've put 17" wheel, i think it is 8" wide with 245/45/17 tire. If you go to a place like discount tire they will tell you that it will not fit but it will because that's what they put on rt/tt models. I can try to find the offset of mine if you are interested in the type of wheels that i got

tirerack.com
wheelmax.com
discounttiredirect.com
I've used wheelmax and discount tire. I was pleased with their service and prices.

The wheels on my green car are +42 offset if I remember correctly. I picked them up from wheelmax for right around $1000 mounted/balanced and shipped.

If you go to tirerack.com, you can plug in the make, model and year of your car and get back a list of different size rims and tires that will work. I got 18" BBS Rims and low profile tires, but the overall circumferance was the same, so odometer milage is not affected as it would be if you increased or decreased the overall circumferance of the tire.It even shows you how the rims and tires will look on your car. It's the best site I know for rims and tires and they take the guesswork out of it for you.
