Default Compression and vin decode

I know the compression of all of my valves( I just checked them) But how do I figure out the compression ratio now?

And can someone please help me decode my vin and tell me what type of engine I have? :

Show me a picture of it and I'll tell you what you have...

You either have a SOHC 3.0L or a DOHC 3.0 NA or TT.
The compression of the NA DOHC is 10:1, the TT is 8:1, and I think the SOHC is 8.9:1 providing everything is stock.

How do I figure that out though? My compression guage read that I have 150 in all but two chambers and in those I had 165 and 170.

You don't calculate the compression ratio of an engine by doing a compression test.

So how do I calculate it then?

Is there an easy way to get those measurements?

And do you know of what the range my compression should be at?(I mean not the ratio just the compression of the chambers)

It is either the DOHC orthe SOHC. I can not tell. How will I know? I thought the vin number would tell me but I do not know how to decode it.

Do you have a digital camera? With a quick pic, I'll tell you what you have.
