Default clicking on right of block

Just to start I don't know much about cars. I bought a 91 stealth es recently and heard a clicking. Added oil because it was low hoping it was the valves. Plan on getting an oil change soon. However after adding the oil it was still ticking. Ticking seems to come from right of block if looking at car near serpentine belt. Any help at all would be great. Thnx

It could be alot of things. Without hearing its its impossible to be sure.

That said. Does is seem to be coming from the upper part of the enging maybe just under the valve cover? If thats the case you probably have what is called "Lifter tick".

If its the lifters the sound should go away if the rpm's are raised over 3k for a few seconds.

I don't believe its lifter clicks cuz it ticks even after 3k. If your looking at the engine the tick is coming from the right sid e and lower. My friend said it was the pulleys ticking. I also saw a post in here about somekind of tensioner. I wanna say a pulley tendioner.

you can take off the accessory belts and start it up to see if that solves the ticking, if it still ticks and seems to be coming from the belt area check the timing belt
