all these lights just came on
It can be done, but it was put in a place that requires lots of wiggling aroung to get it out. You will need some metric wrenches/sockets.

that's great to hear! everything on my jeep is metric so that is no problem at all. thanks for the link too. now i know where to go when ANYTHING goes wrong with her car. i'll let you all know if i have any problems with the install.
okay i replaced the alternator and everything was fine for a couple of days. then the battery power started dropping, then it would go back up. finally today it wouldn't start.
1. so either something is draining it.
2. the alternator was bad
3. i messed up somewhere during the replacement
that thing was such a pain to get off and on. there was this one wire attached to the alternator's wiring harness but it did not lead to the alternator and i couldn't figure out where it went. anyone know what that is?
